Hello! My name is Mary Ann Malig-On, but you can call me Teacher Anne. I am 32 years old and proudly from the Philippines. I studied Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Arts from the University of the Philippines, where I developed my passion for creativity, communication, and connecting with people. For almost 10 years, I have been teaching English to non-native speakers, primarily students from Korea and China, as well as professionals from the Middle East, the United States, and Australia. Throughout my teaching career, I have helped learners of all ages and backgrounds improve their speaking, pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, and overall confidence in using English in both everyday conversations and professional settings. Beyond teaching, I have participated in numerous theatre productions and musical performances in my country. My love for theatre and puppetry has greatly influenced my teaching style, especially with young learners. I believe that learning should never feel intimidating—it should be creative, interactive, and enjoyable. By combining storytelling, role-playing, games, and engaging activities, I create lessons that keep students motivated and excited to learn. My students often describe me as friendly, patient, encouraging, and easy to talk to. I believe these qualities have helped many of my students stay with me for years as they continue their English-learning journey. I understand that learning a new language can be challenging, so I always strive to create a comfortable environment where students feel confident to make mistakes, ask questions, and grow at their own pace. With my background in theatre arts and puppetry, I love bringing creativity into the classroom. I use storytelling, role-playing, visual materials, games, and real-life conversations to make learning natural and memorable. Rather than simply memorizing grammar rules, you'll learn how to communicate confidently in real situations. I focus on helping students improve their speaking confidence, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, and conversational skills through interactive activities and meaningful discussions.
